It's just more appealing and aesthetically pleasing to see clothes clinging to a body rather than hanging from it! Sexy came back this spring with LV's ads and also notoriously provocative Versace. Both designers, and many more, have their models lying down in springs ad campaigns.
And I quote the CUT, "Legs splayed, backs arched, lips parted, eyes smiling and a little stoned-looking, it's the kind of uncomfortable position women never adopt in real life naturally, save one circumstance."
